Jade, 22, secretly suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and more... Her overbearing mother Contessa suffers from physical pain and takes 22 pills a day. Jade is in dire need of love from the mother she loves to hate and is learning to love herself with the help of her Creative Arts Therapist. Hillary Hawkins, creator of JADED THE MUSICAL, is a playwright, lyricist, composer and performer based in Los Angeles, California and New Jersey, USA. Hawkins is also an actor well-known for her work on Nickelodeon (singing voice of Vanessa on Nickelodeon's "Gullah Gullah Island"; Kate on Nickelodeon's "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"; former Host of Nick Jr.)
Hillary, who has performed in National Tours as well as Off-Broadway, is also creator of MOLESTATION MONOLOGUES which made Amazon's Best Seller's List and also received a Voice Arts Awards nomination; category: Author Performance, Best Voice Over.
Hillary has performed voiceovers for Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Red Cross, World Bank, UNICEF, DCFS, DCCC, WHO, Tyler Perry's "Acrimony", Marvel's Luke Cage, the Emmy® Award-Winning Series "Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal" and more.
Hawkins is constantly creating and is a Denis Johnston Playwriting Award recipient. Her one act play SHERRI was produced by New Perspectives Theatre Company in New York, and her short film "STUCK FOR A REASON" aired on ABC, CBS, NBC & FOX on National TV Show "African American Short Films."
Hillary wrote a song "Protect" and produced the music video and it has been airing nationally on BadamiTV's "Gospel Music" on the CW, ABC, FOX and more!
Beyond the arts, Hawkins worked in Child Protective Services for the State of New Jersey and as a Bilingual Interviewer for Safe Horizon.
Hawkins achieved her Dual BA in Spanish & Creative Writing from Smith College in just 3 years on the Dean's List while working as a Radio Personality for WEIB 106.3 Smooth FM. She completed graduate coursework in Psychology and Diplomacy & International Relations at Seton Hall University.
Hillary is the daughter of former state Assemblyman Eldridge Hawkins Sr., a prominent civil rights attorney, and producer Linda Cofer Hawkins, former Miss New Jersey runner up in the Miss America Pageant.
