WHAT IS AGE REGRESSION?
Age regression is when someone of a certain age regresses back to a younger age in the way they act, think, speak or feel. For example, an adult who acts or sounds like a child.
WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF AGE REGRESSION?
There are many causes of age regression including trauma experienced at a younger age or even trauma experienced at an older age / at a time when no help was available or for whatever reason healing did not take place in time.
CAN YOU GIVE AN EXMPLE OF AGE REGRESSION IN ONE OF YOUR SHORT FILMS, TV SHOWS OR SERIES?
Absolutely. In the case of Sunny Love ("Actors Anonymous Hotline"), trauma was experienced as both a child and an adult so Sunny chooses to regress to the time of what she perceives to be the lesser of the two evils.... Because she has not fully expressed nor addressed what happened to her as a child, she revisits her past in order to heal, whether she knows it or not. The character Wisdom aids her on this journey.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT AGE REGRESSION, HILLARY?
I thought you'd never ask. Age regression can be very beneficial in the entertainment industry when casting directors are in need of actors 18+ to play younger. Sometimes for those sensitive topics, it's safer to just go with an adult. An adult who still looks and sounds like a child. That's where I come in. I still play children's roles and plan to continue playing children's roles as long as that is what God would have me do and I hope the roles I play help others.
CAN YOU GIVE US AN EXAMPLE OF A SENSITIVE TOPIC VOICE OVER YOU HAVE DONE SINCE YOU'VE BEEN AN ADULT WHERIN YOU WERE THE VOICE OF A CHILD?
Absolutely. I am the voice of the little girl with the African Accent in the UNICEF video "Drivers of Violence Affecting Children." One of my lines: "You can be raped by neighbors, and be afraid to tell anyone."
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ANYONE DEALING WITH AGE REGRESSION?
Do whatever you gotta do to heal from the trauma experienced as a child if that is the reason for your regression, or even if it's not. And if it's not hurtin' anyone, enjoy your life, whatever age you choose to be. Honestly, I think the world is too caught up in age and should stop asking people's age and should simply ask if a person is a legal adult or child because people age differently and I feel like age is just a number people use to judge people but it's not a fair assessment because people go through different experiences in life at different ages and grow at different rates, body, mind and spirit. But getting back to the question at hand, as long as you're happy & healthy, I support you in whatever age you choose to be.
DO YOU FEEL AGE REGRESSION IS HEALTHY?
I feel age regression can be very healthy as for some it is a vital step in the healing process and once you go back and deal with whatever you gotta heal with you can then blossom beautifully into a healthier version of the "adult" you, when you are ready.
IN CONCLUSION?
In conclusion, I am all for age regression, as long as it's not hurting anybody. As long as you can still take care of yourself. But if you are unable to take care of yourself, then please don't be afraid to ask for help. Talk to someone, even if it's a character you gotta create. Thanks and have a sunny day. ❤️🫵☀️
